Taylor, Principal - The Taylor Company
A
native, third-generation Floridian, founder and principal Scott
Taylor is a public relations professional who has consulted a
diverse group of clients, from the world's largest consumer products
corporations to nationally-recognized non-profit organizations.
His career has enabled him to gain experience
in the country's most creative, competitive and influential markets:
Washington, D.C., New York, and Los Angeles.
Born and raised in southwest Florida, Scott
earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington, D.C.'s American
University's School of International Service, with a second major
in International Business. He remained in Washington after school,
gaining experience with one of the city's most influential boutique
public relations agencies, Viator Associates.
In New York, Scott held management positions
at two of the city's leading independent public relations firms:
Makovsky & Company, and Brown & Powers Associates, Inc.
He was a Supervisor in the Health Sciences practice at Makovsky
& Company, and for several years was Director of Media Relations
for Brown & Powers Associates. During this time, he helped
to create and implement communications initiatives for clients
in several categories, including helping to develop, place and
publicize public service programs on behalf of various consumer
health topics.
Immediately prior to returning to Florida,
Scott worked in Los Angeles where, as a supervisor at Manning
Selvage & Lee (MS&L), he managed a variety of corporate,
consumer product and public affairs accounts.
Scott is the 2004-05 president of the Tampa Bay
Chapter of the Florida
Public Relations Association and is an active member of the
OSHNA,
the Sierra
Club and the Tampa
Bay Business Guild.
